Lucca A53 Mini / Mini Vivaldi: Testing the Magnet Sensor
If your machine isn't registering water in the reservoir, the magnet sensor may not be sensing the float magnet. Follow this guide to troubleshoot.
NOTE: Before continuing to troubleshoot, verify that the float magnet is correctly installed in the reservoir, and floats when the reservoir is full of water.Tools Needed:
- Test magnet (a fridge magnet works, but the stronger the better)
- Wire snips or scissors
- Paprclip
- Small zip tie
Start with the machine plugged in and powered on, then remove the machine's reservoir and identify the magnet sensor inside the machine. The no water light should be on at this point.

(The magnet sensors in this machine are commonly black or white, the color does not affect functionality.)
Hold the test magnet up to the magnet sensor. You may need to experiment with the exact placement, but if the magnet sensor is working it should sense the presence of the test magnet and the no water light should turn off.

If the no water light doesn't turn off, no matter how you hold the test magnet, turn the machine of and unplug it before continuing with the following instructions.
1. Remove the panels from the machine, then start with the machine unplugged and the reservoir set aside.
2. Turn the machine sideways and identify the magnet sensor through the back of the machine.

3. Trace the two electrical leads off the magnet sensor to where they connect to the machine's main board wiring.

4. Snip the zip tie holding the electrical connectors in place.

5. Push back the wire covers to reveal the electrical connectors and then disconnect both sides.

6. Take the paperclip and use it to hold the two connectors together as shown.

NOTE: These are the two connectors on the short wires going to the machine's main board, not the connectors directly attached to the magnet sensor.
7. Now plug the machine in and power it on, don't replace the reservoir just yet.

The machine should start up as normal, as if the water reservoir were in place and full of water. If this works, that's a good indication that the magnet sensor is not working correctly and will need to be replaced.
Clive Coffee - La Spaziale Reservoir Magnet Sensor
If the machine still does not power on normally, and the no water light still illuminates, you will have to continue troubleshooting with a multimeter to determine the underlying cause. Please contact the Clive Coffee tech department for further support:
