LUCCA A53 Pro: Switching Between Plumb-in Mode and Tank Mode

These instructions demonstrate how to switch your Lucca A53 Pro espresso machine between plumb-in mode and tank mode. 

To switch your Lucca A53 Pro espresso machine between plumb-in mode and tank mode, the machine must be both programmed to operate in the desired mode and also the water inlet valve must be physically switched to the desired mode.

Programming:

1. Start with the machine unplugged.

2. Press and hold the power button while the machine is still unplugged.

3. Plug the machine in while continuing to press and hold the power button.

4. The digital display will flash the current programmed mode—either "PL" for plumbed-in mode or "tA" for tank mode.

5. Quickly release and then tap the power button once to switch between the two modes. A moment after your selection is made, the machine will enter its normal stand-by mode.

NOTE: Any time the machine is unplugged and then plugged back in, the machine will briefly display the current programmed mode. This serves as a helpful reminder.

Switching the Inlet Valve:

1. The inlet valve is located on the underside of the machine, toward the back of the machine. You can access it by carefully tilting the machine onto its back or by lifting the machine from the back.

2. There's a handy diagram on the bottom of the machine to help you switch the inlet valve to the correct position.

NOTE: If you are draining the machine to get it ready for transport, the machine will need to be programmed to plumb-in mode, but the valve will need to be switched to tank mode.
