Eureka Atom W 65 / W 75 Espresso Grinder: Setup Guide

How to operate the Atom W 65 / W 75:

Step one: Out of the box and onto the counter

Remove the grinder from its box and place it on a solid-level surface.
Inspect the grinder for any damage. If you notice any, contact us immediately.
Place the hopper into the grinder.
Adjust the portafilter rest to accommodate your portafilter for hands-free grinding.
Ensure the rotating metal tab is closed before adding coffee to the hopper.

Step two: Operating your grinder

Plug in your grinder.
The main power button is located on the chassis's front right side. Press once to turn on the grinder.
With coffee in the hopper, pull the plastic bean-hopper tab to the open position to allow the beans to flow into the grinder's neck.
Choose 1 of the 3 grind-by-weight dosing options and adjust the grams to your desired starting dose by pressing the plus and minus buttons.
Place your portafilter on the portafilter rest and wait a moment for the grinder to automatically dispense your programmed coffee dose.
Do not make a grind adjustment until after you've pulled your first shot. The grind setting of the Eureka Atom W series grinders is adjusted by turning the grind adjustment dial on the top of the machine. The grinder is infinitely adjustable, with the numbers serving merely as reference points. Turning the dial clockwise adjusts the grind setting to finer, and turning it counter-clockwise adjusts the grind setting to coarser. Make small adjustments, as this mechanism is fairly sensitive.

Step three: Dialing in your grind

To adjust the grind size, move the continuous adjustment knob clockwise for a finer grind or counterclockwise for a coarser grind.
Adjust the grind setting by turning the small dial on top of the grinder. The grinder is infinitely adjustable, with the numbers serving merely as reference points. This means the dial can rotate 360 degrees several times until the burrs touch or the dial unthreads. Turning the dial clockwise (towards smaller numbers) adjusts the grind setting finer, and turning counter-clockwise (towards larger numbers) adjusts the grind setting coarser. When dialing in for espresso, make small adjustments, in increments of 1/4 - 1/2 a number at a time, as this mechanism is very sensitive.
Using the grinder for drip coffee and pour-over will require a large adjustment, likely an entire 360-degree rotation or two. When moving from espresso to pour over, i.e., fine to coarse, it is okay that the grinder is not running. When making large adjustments back to espresso, i.e., coarse to fine, it's best to have the grinder running so that it does not jam.
If coffee does not come through the grinder at any point, this could indicate that the setting is too fine or jammed. Open the burrs to free the coffee by turning counter-clockwise and making the setting coarser.
