Profitec MOVE: Steam/Hot Water Valve Joystick Seal Inspection and Replacement
A valve that doesn't seal or doesn't dispense steam or water may be the result of an obstructed or worn joystick seal gasket. The following guide demonstrates how to service the joystick seal gasket in your Profitec Move's steam or hot water valve.
Tools Needed:
- 2.5mm Allen key
- 3mm Allen key
- 6mm Allen key
- 17mm wrench
- Adjustable wrench
- Flat bladed screwdriver
- Pick or similar implement
1. Start by removing the wraparound panel from the machine.
2. Remove the upper front panel from the machine.
3. Identify the valve to be serviced and firmly grasp the flat part with the adjustable wrench.
4. Hold the valve firmly with the adjustable wrench while unscrewing the copper tube compression fitting with the 17mm wrench.
5. Gently move the copper tube out of the way.
6. Hold the valve firmly with the adjustable wrench while unscrewing the valve retaining nut with the 17mm wrench.
7. You can now pull the valve free of the machine.
8. Use the 6mm Allen key to unscrew the threaded end cap from the valve body.
9. You can now remove the spring and joystick seal assembly from the valve body.
10. Inspect the rubber seal gasket for damage or wear. Clean the seal gasket or replace it if necessary.
11. Don't forget to clean inside the valve body.
12. You can now reassemble the valve and reinstall it in the machine by following the above steps in reverse.
NOTE: If you need to replace the rubber seal gasket follow the steps below.
1. Unscrew the valve stem from the gasket seat by holding the gasket seat with the adjustable wrench and then using the flat bladed screwdriver in the notch on the end of the valve stem.
2. Use a pick or similar implement to pry the rubber seal gasket out of the valve seat.
3. Press in a fresh valve seat, then put everything back together by following these directions in reverse.
