Before attempting this we recommend allowing the machine to fully cool off, unplugging it and removing its water source.

NOTE: If you are using your machine in plumb-in mode it's important to verify that the line pressure going to the machine is within 30-45 PSI. Excessively high line pressure can cause the expansion valve to leak.

First, remove the panels from the machine.

NOTE: Some expansion valves use a larger Allen head screw here, depending on the date of manufacture.

At this point, you can reinstall the expansion valve adjustment screw and set screw. Once installed verify that the expansion valve adjustment screw is properly tightened down by backflushing machine and checking for leaks. If machine is leaking out of exhaust port while backflushing, tighten down the expansion valve until it no longer leaks during backflush.
