LUCCA Tempo: Repackaging
Here's how to reassemble the original packing material on your Tempo for shipping or transport.
Tools required:
- Packing tape
- Drain the machine. If your machine is unable to power on, see our alternative draining instructions. These alternative instructions are also more effective at removing all the water from the boiler, beneficial for long-term storage or shipping during colder winder months.
- Allow the machine to cool while assembling all accessories.
- Remove the drip tray and reservoir. Ensure these are empty and fully dry.
- Remove the paddle from the pressure adjustment mechanism by pulling directly down.
- Place the accessories in the accessory box. Utilize the provided foam inserts to prevent scratching from the portafilter spout, and to protect the steam wand.
- Set the accessory box underneath the grouphead. Rotate the steam wand inwards to hold everything in place.
- Place the provided cloth dust cover over the machine. Cinch this around the bottom of the machine. Pull the drawstring closed.
- Orient the machine with the original packing material - due to the geometry of the front panel, the front of the machine should face the narrower side of the lower foam insert.
- Place the machine in the box. Place the power cord in the included plastic bag to protect the machine from scratches. Tuck this behind the lower back panel of the machine.
- Taking note of the orientation of the upper foam insert, place this on top of the machine. The narrow end will face the back of the machine.
The insert should be level and flush with the top of the box when installed correctly:
