- Does the spindle turn smoothly and easily?
- Does the distance between the burrs remain even throughout the lower burr's full rotation?

11. A little at a time, turn the grinder's adjustment nob finer to bring the burrs closer together, while continuing to turn the central spindle.

- Does the distance between the burrs remain even at finer grind settings?
- Are you able to turn the adjustment knob until the burrs touch?
- Do the burrs touch evenly all the way around or does one area seem to touch first?
- Can you hear/feel the burrs touching as you turn the spindle, even though the burrs don't look like they're touching from the front?

The answers to the above questions will help us diagnose potential problems with your grinder's burrs or adjustment mechanism.
