Profitec Move: Coffee Boiler Heating Element Resistance Test

Is the coffee boiler in your Profitec Move heating slowly or failing to heat? This article shows how to test the heating element to see if it needs to be replaced.

Tools Needed:

  • 2.5mm Allen key (For removing the top panel)
  • Multimeter

  4. Set your multimeter to read resistance/Ohms (Ω). If you do not have an auto-ranging multimeter, set it to read 200 Ω.

  5. Place one of the multimeter probes on one of the heating element legs and place the other probe on the other element leg. A properly operating heating element in a Profitec Move should have a resistance reading of approximately 18-20 Ω. If your multimeter reads “0” or “OL”, or is significantly higher or lower than 18-20 Ω your heating element has failed and needs to be replaced.
