ECM Synchronika: Hot Water Valve Seal Inspection/Replacement
If you close your hot water valve on your ECM Synchronika espresso machine and experience a leak (it is normal for steam to escape for a couple seconds), the valve seal may have an obstruction, or need replacing.
To perform this repair you will need to have your machine unplugged and completely cool.
Tools needed:
- 2.5 mm, 3mm, and 6mm allen keys
- 17mm wrench
- New Joystick Seal Gasket
The first step is to remove the top and side panels.
Next, using the 2.5mm and 3mm allen keys, remove protruding frame component.

Now, using a 17mm wrench, remove the nut affixing the copper pipe to the hot water valve.

Remove the 17mm nut holding the hot water valve to the frame.

With the hot water valve removed from the machine, insert the 6mm allen key into the back of the valve and remove the stainless fitting.

Remove brass seal/gasket housing from valve. Make sure not to lose the spring.

Inspect seal and inside of valve for any debris. Remove debris. Inspect seal condition, replace if needed.

Reassemble the valve and reattach to the machine.
