ECM Mechanika V Slim: Replacing the Safety Valve
If your machine over-pressurizes and you hear a loud popping sound, you may need to replace your safety valve.
Tools Needed:
- 20mm wrench
- PTFE Tape (optional)
NOTE: The machine will need to be unplugged and cool to the touch before beginning.
1) Remove the panels from your machine.
2) Take a look at the top of your boiler, and locate the safety valve.
3) Using your 20mm wrench, remove the safety valve.

If you'll be replacing the safety valve with a new one, you can discard the old safety valve. If you'll be reinstalling the old safety valve, clean all of the old thread sealant off of the safety valve with a wire bristle brush. In either case, don't forget to clean the old thread sealant off of the boiler itself.
4) Wrap the threads of the replacement valve in a few layers of PTFE tape, then screw it into the top of the boiler. Hand-tight plus a quarter turn with a wrench should be plenty tight.
