Lelit Mara X: Replacing the Safety Valve
The safety valve on your Mara X has a service life of 1-3 years. Follow these instructions when it's time to install a new safety valve.
Tools Needed:
- 20mm crescent wrench
OR
- 20mm deep socket and socket wrench
- PTFE tape (aka Teflon tape aka plumber's tape)
- Replacement safety valve
NOTE: The machine should be unplugged and cool to the touch before you begin.
1. Start by removing the top panel from the machine.
2. Identify the safety valve.
- 20mm crescent wrench
OR
- 20mm deep socket and socket wrench
- PTFE tape (aka Teflon tape aka plumber's tape)
- Replacement safety valve
NOTE: The machine should be unplugged and cool to the touch before you begin.
1. Start by removing the top panel from the machine.
2. Identify the safety valve.
3. Remove the silicone drain tube from the top of the safety valve.
4. Using the crescent wrench or socket wrench, unscrew the safety valve from the top of the boiler.

5. Clean any debris from the original thread sealant off of the boiler, make sure that the sealing o-ring is clean and in good condition.
6. Transfer the sealing o-ring to the new safety valve if one was not included with the new valve.
7. Screw the new safety valve into the top of the boiler.
