Profitec Pro 400: Expansion valve (OPV) service

Follow these instructions to service the expansion valve (OPV) on your Pro 400.

Tools Needed:
- 2.5mm Allen wrench or hex driver
- Flat bladed screwdriver
- Dental pick or similar implement
- Replacement expansion valve seat

NOTE: The machine should be unplugged and cool to the touch before you begin.

1. Start by removing the top panel from the machine.

2. Identify the expansion valve.

3. Remove the retaining screw from the expansion valve using the 2.5mm Allen wrench.

4. Unscrew the expansion valve adjustment barrel and remove it from the expansion valve body.

5. Use the dental pick or similar implement to fish the expansion valve spring out of the expansion valve body.

6. Inspect the expansion valve seat for wear or damage. Clean or replace as necessary.
(Don't forget to clean inside the expansion valve body too!)

7. Use these steps in reverse to re-assemble the expansion valve.
