LUCCA Tempo: Replacing the Power Switch
If the switch or power receptacle needs replaced, here is how to easily gain access to these components
Tools required:
- Flat blade screwdriver
- #2 (large) Philips head screwdriver
- Needle-nose pliers
- The panel access screws may be quite snug from the factory. If the screw head does not turn easily, apply more pressure directly inwards to avoid stripping the heads. Bracing the machine at the same time may be necessary to apply the required force.
- Once the two screws are removed, the access panel slides out to reveal the connections beneath.
- To remove the connections from the switch, it helps to gently pry using a flat blade screwdriver. Slide one edge underneath the spade connector, then gently twist to begin to force the connector up off the terminal. Rocking the connector back and forth can help a bit as you wiggle it free.
- Observe the clips on either side of the switch that hold it up against the mounting panel.
- Press inwards on these to depress them and release the switch from the panel. Pressing outwards on the switch while depressing the clips will release the switch
- Once the clips are free the switch simply slides out from the panel. The replacement switch will then clip back in to take its place.
- Consult the following photo to ensure the wiring leads are connected to the correct terminals upon reassembly
