LUCCA A53 Mini: Steam Boiler Overheating
If you find your LUCCA A53 Mini's steam boiler overheating and releasing steam from the safety valve then this guide will help you solve the issue.
1. When does the safety valve release steam?
a. At 1.5 bar or above? Move on to step 2.
b. At less than 1.5 bar? You may need a new safety valve.
2. Reducing the temperature of the steam boiler:
For A53 Mini models with 85-120 displays:
1. Turn machine off so that it goes into standby mode (just power light flashing)
2. Hold 2 Cup button until 100 + 105 become lit
3. Tap the 1 Cup button so that 95 also becomes lit
4. Tap the 2 Cup button to go back to standby mode
5. Turn the machine back on and allow temperature to stabilize
For A53 Mini models with 91-97 displays:
1. Turn machine off so that it goes into standby mode (just power light flashing)
2. Hold 1 Cup button until 94 + 95 become lit
3. Tap the Hot Water button so that 93 also becomes lit
4. Tap the 1 Cup button to go back to standby mode
5. Turn the machine back on and allow temperature to stabilize
If this process does not work the first time, try to lower the temperature one more time using the same process and lighting up one more light to the left. If you are still having overheating issues, you may need to replace the temperature probe.
3. Replacing the temperature probe in the steam boiler:
We have instructions you can find here for replacing the steam boiler temp probe: A53 Mini Steam Boiler Temperature Probe Replacement
